Welcome to my blog! Hope you find hope here as I share my journey with you…

The Granadilla Story

The name of this blog space was born from the story I am about to share with you.

We bought 2 granadilla plants 2 years ago. We planted them in pots. They grew beautiful, green, curly shoots and leaves. Now and then my husband and I discussed these two plants. Although they weren’t dying, they also did not thrive. We concluded that they needed to be repotted or planted out into the garden. Yet, time passed and we never got to sort them out.

Starting in 2023 I felt so unprepared. It felt like I had no chance to sit and plan the year with new resolutions and goals. I felt overwhelmed and scared. Most of January was just staying afloat. On Wednesday we and a group of friends got together and we shared around the new year and our vision for 2023. As I shared my thoughts with them I also discovered the truth about my situation.

THE 2 GRANADILLAS!! If I could ask them whether they are okay, they would probably say, yes. And if I asked them if would they like to be planted out into the garden soil, they would probably object. But for me as their gardener, I knew this would be the best for them. I could already imagine them thriving with bigger and stronger roots. Accessing deeper water and getting nature’s proper nutrients. And that, my friend, is exactly what applies to us as well. We get so comfortable with our ‘pots’ that we lose out of sight the potential of new beginnings. Faithfully leaping into uncertainty and trusting that the Gardener knows what He’s doing. We get to trade hosepipe water for glorious rain from above.

Within 3 weeks of replanting my granadillas they were blooming and after 6 weeks we had fruits!

Don’t be scared to allow change. Don’t be hesitant to prune. It might be painful at first but oh, the thriving that follows is so worth it!

Granadilla love,

M
